Widely acknowledged as one of the most versatile and skilled winemakers in Australia, Andrew Wigan has been honing his craft as a winemaker for over 30 years and has been Chief Winemaker at Peter Lehmann Wines since the company's beginning in 1979.
Andrew's technical winemaking expertise, combined with his profound understanding of viticulture has won him a range of winemaking medals and trophies, including the prestigious Jimmy Watson trophy, the Fisher Jefferies Prize, International Winemaker of the Year (2003 & 2006) and Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine 'Winemaker of the Year' in 2009.
Andrew is held in high esteem as a wine show judge and has presided over many important Australian wine shows.
While his family, the Barossa and its fine wines are his first passions, the Essendon AFL football team holds a special place in his heart.
