2011 – A Year of Wine Show Success

As we look back on 2011, we see that the quality of our wines have once again had success at a number of major wine shows, not only here in Australia, but around the world.

The major trophy awards won by PLW in 2011 have included:

Best Wine of Show – Sydney International Wine Show – 2005 Margaret Barossa Semillon

Best Wine of Show – Barossa Wine Show – 2005 Wigan Eden Valley Riesling

Best Riesling of Show – Royal Adelaide Wine Show – 2006 Wigan Eden Valley Riesling

Best White Wine Under $20 – Royal Adelaide Wine Show – 2011 Art Series Classic Riesling

Best Mature Wine 2005 or older - 2011 Melbourne Wine Show - 2005 Wigan Riesling

Best Riesling over £10 - 2011 Decanter World Wine Awards – 2005 Wigan Riesling

Once again, 'Wig' and the winemaking team have highlighted the great resource of Riesling and Semillon that we have, and they have a proven technique in providing, not only extremely drinkable white wines when young, but flourish with a little cellaring time.
