Peter Lehmann shines bright at Sydney Royal Wine Show

20 February 2012

A big congratulations to Chief Winemaker, Andrew Wigan, and his outstanding winemaking team for the trophy and gold medal wins at the Sydney Royal Wine Show on Friday, February 17th.

Peter Lehmann’s legend was founded on red wines in the 1960s. Today, the next generation of Lehmann winemakers has cemented a reputation for white wines. This was on show at the Sydney Royal Wine Show, with the white portfolio gaining more points than any other exhibitor in premium white classes to take the Leo Buring Perpetual Trophy.

Our Wigan Riesling trumped again after being awarded a gold medal for the current 2006 vintage.

The Peter Lehmann red wines were also in the winner’s circle, with a top gold awarded to the 2010 Art Series Shiraz Grenache.

“Winning gold for a wine that sells for between $10 and $12 is a great validation that we are over-delivering at every level."

“It is also a good kick for Shiraz Grenache blends which we have championed at Peter Lehmann since day one.” winemaker Andrew Wigan says.
